Die Tanzschule der

The Höhere Fachschule für Zeitgenössischen und Urbanen Bühnentanz (HF ZUB) started in sommer 2013 in the over 2300qm facilities of Tanzwerk 101 in Zurich. This interdisciplinary course of studies is unique in it's orientation towards contemporary and urban dance technics and addresses to talented future stage dancers. Alumni get a Swiss state-recognized diploma after their graduation (Dipl. Bühnentänzer/in HF). We recommend the following translation in English of that degree: Bachelor in College of Higher Education and Training (B Chet). We can therefore grant an ideal positioning in the professional artistic world. With the beginning of the first year of training in September 2013, a perennial curriculum came into effect. It is highlighting the encouragement and development of young and talented dancers. A key course element is the intense research and development of interdisciplinary dance forms. In addition to the tools for stage dancing, the students also get taught in different competence areas like pedagogy, choreography as well as the dramaturgical and process-orientated theatre work, always in step with the actual practice. On the one hand, these tools will allow to our alumni real entry opportunities in the profession of a dancer, on the other hand they show off alternatives in the professional practice. This is how the HF ZUB guarantees today's expectations; our teaching team prepares future dancers with a basic but also wide-ranging training, pointing on their hidden talents, indicating alternatives and supporting the students individually.
